Swipe Events Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of Swipe Events, our website (swipeevents.app), mobile web application, and attendance at our in-person events. By using Swipe Events, purchasing tickets, or attending an event, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully before participating.

1. Company Information

Swipe Events is an ASIC Registered Australian Dating Company.

2. Eligibility – Strictly 18+

  • Swipe Events is for adults 18 years and older only.

  • You cannot create an account, book a ticket, or attend an event if you are under 18.

  • Events are run in licensed venues (bars, clubs, restaurants) where ID may be required.

  • Any account found to belong to a minor will be terminated immediately.

3. Account Registration

  • To use Swipe Events, you must create an account via SMS verification.

  • Your login is confirmed by a 4-digit code sent to your registered mobile number.

  • Required details include: first name/nickname, date of birth, gender, city, and at least 2 profile photos.

  • You must provide accurate and truthful information. Fake or misleading accounts may be removed.

  • You are responsible for keeping your login secure.

4. Event Participation

  • Tickets must be purchased in advance via Stripe or PayPal.

  • Entry is only confirmed once payment is processed and a ticket is issued.

  • Events are run in licensed, staffed venues. Swipe Events itself does not provide hosts; safety and venue management are the responsibility of venue staff.

  • You must arrive on time. Late arrivals may miss scheduled dates without refund.

  • Events typically include 10–15 mini-dates of 8 minutes each across a 2-hour timeframe.

  • The app will guide you to each date and allow you to mark “Match,” “Friend,” or “No.”

5. Ticketing, Payments & Transfers

  • Payments are processed securely through Stripe and PayPal.

  • Non-refundable: All tickets are non-refundable, except where required by law.

  • Transfers:

    • If you purchase the “Allow Transfers” option, you may cancel before the event and retain ticket credit for a future event.

    • Tickets may be transferred to another person who meets the same gender and age requirements.

  • Cancellations by Swipe Events: If an event is cancelled or rescheduled, we will offer a refund or ticket transfer.

  • Tickets are emailed and sent by SMS once purchased.

6. User Conduct

When attending Swipe Events, you agree to:

  • Treat all participants with respect, courtesy, and kindness.

  • Respect personal boundaries and consent.

  • Not harass, abuse, or discriminate against others.

  • Follow the one-strike policy: inappropriate conduct may result in immediate removal without refund.

  • Comply with all venue rules, including responsible service of alcohol laws.

7. Matches, Messaging & Reporting

  • Direct messaging is only available if both users select “Match” or “Friend.”

  • Chats are private between the two matched users.

  • Temporary in-event DMs (“I’m at the bar”) are deleted after the event.

  • If a match is deleted, all related messages are permanently removed.

  • Swipe Events does not monitor messages but may investigate reports of abuse.

  • The app includes a Report button. Reported users may be banned.

8. Safety at Events

  • Events are run at licensed public venues with staff and security.

  • Swipe Events does not provide on-site hosts. Venue staff are responsible for managing safety, alcohol service, and security.

  • If you feel unsafe, notify venue staff immediately.

  • Inappropriate behavior may result in account suspension or permanent ban.

9. Photos & Profiles

  • You must upload a minimum of 2 photos to participate (maximum 6).

  • Photos must be genuine and represent you. Fake or offensive images are prohibited.

  • Profiles display: first name/nickname, city, and photos.

  • Your date of birth, phone, and email are never shown to other users.

10. Intellectual Property

  • All content, branding, design, and technology of Swipe Events remain the property of Australia Speed Dating Pty Ltd.

  • You may not copy, reproduce, or misuse our content without written permission.

11. Privacy & Data Protection

  • Data is stored securely in Google Firebase Cloud.

  • All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

  • Login is secured via SMS verification.

  • We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party retargeting.

12. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

  • Swipe Events provides a platform for social introductions — we do not guarantee matches, relationships, or outcomes.

  • Attendance is at your own risk.

  • We are not responsible for the behavior of other participants.

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, Swipe Events is not liable for damages, losses, or disputes arising from use of our platform or attendance at events.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Swipe Events, its directors, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the app, events, or any violation of these Terms.

14. Account Suspension & Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time through the app. Data is permanently removed within 30 days.

  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that:

    • Breach these Terms.

    • Provide false information.

    • Engage in harassment, unsafe conduct, or misconduct.

  • Reported and banned users may have their phone numbers permanently blocked from re-registering.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of Victoria, Australia, where Swipe Events is registered.

16. Amendments

Swipe Events may update these Terms at any time. If significant changes are made, we will notify you via email or in-app notice. Continued use of Swipe Events after updates constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
