Swipe Events (“we,” “us,” or “our”) values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our website (swipeevents.app), our mobile web app, and when you attend our in-person events.

1. Eligibility – Strictly 18+

  • Swipe Events is only available to adults 18 years and older.

  • You cannot create an account, purchase tickets, or attend events if you are under 18.

  • Events are run in licensed venues where proof of age may be required.

  • We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If discovered, we will delete it immediately.


2. No Cookies or Third-Party Tracking

  • We do not use cookies, Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, retargeting, or hidden trackers.

  • Our website and app work without cookies.

  • Advertising for Swipe Events is only run externally (Google Ads, Meta Ads, Eventbrite, Meetup, SEO) — no tracking scripts are installed in our platform.


3. Information We Collect

Profile & Account Data

  • First Name/nickname, mobile number, email.

  • Date of birth, gender (male/female/non-binary), city, country.

  • Profile photos (2–6).

  • Optional: bio, star sign, “what you’re looking for.”

Event & Ticket Data

  • Ticket bookings, attendance history.

  • Ticket IDs assigned per event.

  • Delivery of tickets via SMS (Twilio/Cellcast) and email.

  • Event reminders by SMS/email.

Matches & Messaging

  • Matches made during events.

  • Temporary in-event DMs (deleted after the event).

  • Chats with mutual matches (stored securely in Firebase until deleted).

Login & Technical Data

  • Firebase user ID.

  • Device/OS/browser info.

  • IP address (logged for security).

  • SMS verification (via Twilio/Cellcast).

Payments

  • Processed by Stripe and PayPal.

  • We never store full payment card details.

  • Payment records retained only as legally required.


4. How We Use Your Information

We process your information on the following legal bases:

  • Contractual necessity: to create/manage your account, deliver tickets, run events, enable matches, and provide support.

  • Legitimate interests: to ensure event safety, manage ratios, prevent fraud, and improve services.

  • Legal obligations: to comply with tax, consumer, and regulatory laws.

  • Consent: when you provide optional profile information.

We use your information to:

  • Verify your identity and eligibility.

  • Process bookings and payments.

  • Authenticate logins via SMS.

  • Match you with other attendees during events.

  • Enable messaging with mutual matches.

  • Provide customer support and resolve issues.

  • Investigate and enforce safety or conduct violations.

We never sell or rent your personal data.


5. Data Storage & Security

  • All data is stored in Google Firebase Cloud with encryption in transit and at rest.

  • Strict access controls and regular audits are maintained.

  • SMS login prevents unauthorized access.

  • Profile photos are stored in Firebase Storage.


6. Data Retention & Deletion

  • Data is retained as long as your account is active.

  • You can delete your account anytime in the app.

  • Deletion removes all personal data within 30 days from active systems.

  • Some records (e.g., payment data, fraud reports) may be retained if legally required.

  • Blocked accounts may have mobile numbers retained to prevent re-registration.


7. Sharing of Information

We share data only when necessary:

  • With Stripe & PayPal (payment processing).

  • With Twilio/Cellcast (SMS/email ticketing).

  • With venues (limited attendee details for security).

  • With law enforcement, if legally required.


8. International Data Transfers

  • Data may be stored or processed outside your country (e.g., on Google Cloud servers).

  • We use standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards to ensure compliance with GDPR and international standards.


9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access and obtain a copy of your data.

  • Correct or update inaccuracies.

  • Request deletion of your account and all personal data.

  • Request portability (download/export your data).

  • Restrict or object to processing in certain circumstances.

  • Opt out of reminders or non-essential communications.

  • File a complaint with your local data protection authority.

We will respond to verified requests within 30 days, or longer if permitted by law.


10. Marketing & Communication

  • We do not run email marketing campaigns.

  • We may send you transactional messages only: event confirmations, ticket delivery, reminders, and in-event SMS notifications.

  • You can opt out of reminders at any time (though this may affect event participation).


11. Updates to This Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be notified via email, app, or website notice.
